Horse riding
Horse riding is a popular past-time within the valley, and a significant number of bridleways, byways and toll rides provide the opportunity to enjoy the area’s landscape.
However, the combination of a network broken by sections of busy roads, a lack of bridleway provision in some areas, and the problem of illegal motorised access have all contributed to making travel by horseback difficult and sometimes dangerous.
The Securing the Landscape project is having a significant impact on the problem of unauthorised access and is making the existing bridleways safer to use. In addition, it is removing the major constraint to the creation of new bridleways and will hopefully result in additional opportunities.
Valley of Visions is also working on developing new bridleway links between Cuxton and Ladd’s Farm as well as enhancing the existing opportunities around Aylesford and Eccles.
