Celebrate - Engaging Landscapes
Engaging Landscapes
The Engaging Landscapes project is all about working with young people to engage them in learning about and connecting to their local surroundings through the creative arts.
A range of art workshops will be delivered to groups of young people in communities throughout the Medway Gap by artists commissioned by Valley of Visions. Creative and performing art pieces will be created during these workshops which will form the basis of the animated event that will launch each community trail. Halling has just had a celebration event which was a great success with over 200 people turning up to watch a range of local groups bring Halling to life through readings, costume, song, banners and artwork. Wouldham, Burham and Snodland will launch their community trails in June.
Strood, Cuxton and Aylesford are just starting on the community trail project and will be launching their trails with a Christmas celebration.
Artist Martin Brockman is delivering creative art workshops to a range of local groups in Snodland and Burham where willow sculptures, banners and other artworks are being made.
Trads is working with groups in Wouldham & Halling focusing on performing arts including song and dance as well as making costumes and props.
